Built for your dates, not a brochure.
Bespoke itineraries designed by Virtuoso advisors, booked end to end, and supported while you travel.
Custom travel planning is what happens when nobody hands you a packaged departure and hopes it fits. We start with your calendar, your travelers, and what you actually want out of the trip, then construct the itinerary around it.
What we design
- Multi-country and multi-city itineraries with sensible pacing and short transfers.
- Honeymoons and milestone celebrations, coordinated with the property in advance.
- Multi-generational family travel where a nine-year-old and a seventy-year-old both have a good day.
- Safari, expedition, and remote-lodge travel where availability drives the calendar.
- Villa and residence stays with private chef, driver, and guiding.
- Cruise-plus-land itineraries that add real time in port cities rather than an airport hotel.
What is included in a custom plan
- Discovery. Dates, travelers, budget range, interests, and any hard constraints.
- Design. Routing, properties, room categories, guides, experiences, and free days.
- Pricing. One total investment figure with inclusions stated plainly.
- Booking. Air through our ARC and IATA accreditation, hotels with Virtuoso amenities where applicable, ground services confirmed in writing.
- Documents. A day-by-day travel packet with confirmations, contacts, and timing.
- Support. Direct advisor contact for the duration of the journey.
Planning fees, in plain terms
Most cruise, tour, and hotel bookings carry no planning fee, because our supplier partners compensate us. Complex custom itineraries that require deep research and bespoke ground arrangements may carry a planning fee, which we quote before any work starts and often credit toward the trip. Rates you pay are the same rates the supplier publishes.

Custom travel planning questions, answered
- What is custom travel planning?
- Custom travel planning starts from a blank page rather than a packaged departure. We build the routing, pace, properties, guides, and experiences around your dates, interests, and budget, then book and manage every element as a single itinerary.
- Is a custom trip more expensive than a package?
- Not necessarily. A custom itinerary removes what you would not have used and puts that money where it changes the day: a better room category, a private guide instead of a coach, a shorter transfer. We quote a total investment up front so there are no surprises.
- How long does it take to plan a custom itinerary?
- A first proposal typically arrives within three to five business days of the discovery call. Multi-country itineraries with private guiding, safari camps, or expedition space can take longer because availability must be confirmed before we present it.
- Can you plan for groups, families, and celebrations?
- Yes. Multi-generational family travel, milestone anniversaries, honeymoons, reunions, and small private groups are a large share of what we plan. We handle rooming, dining, pace differences across ages, and celebration touches with the property in advance.
- Do you book flights as part of a custom trip?
- Yes. As an ARC and IATA accredited agency we ticket air, including complex multi-city and international business class routings, and we coordinate flights with the ground itinerary so connections and arrival times actually work.
- What happens if something goes wrong during the trip?
- You contact your advisor directly. We rebook, reroute, and call the property or supplier on your behalf. That advocacy, backed by Virtuoso relationships, is the main reason clients stay with us for decades.
Tell us the trip you have in mind.
We will come back with a real itinerary, not a brochure.
